The purpose of this Certified Medical Coding Specialist (CMCS) certification is to promote ethical and professional medical coding through the certification of qualified individuals. This voluntary credential formally recognizes a medical coder’s competency and proficiency, encourages continued professional personal best development, and provides a national standard assessment based on industry knowledge.

Becoming certified in Coding can increase your chances of getting client contracts and sets you apart as an expert in the field. This certification requires 14 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) annually, so you can keep abreast of any healthcare policy changes.
